1,097 patients in Sokoto treated under Sen. Wamakko’s free eye treatment programme

Sokoto Aug. 7, 2017 (NAN) No fewer than 1,097 persons suffering from various eye ailments in Sokoto State have so far been treated under Sen. Aliyu Wamakko’s free eye treatment programme.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Malam Bashir Mani, disclosed this in a statement in Sokoto on Monday.

He aid that the programme , which was flagged  off at the Palace of Balle, Gudu Local Government, on Aug. 1 , had so far been conducted in six local government areas under the Sokoto North Senatorial District.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that Wamakko was the immediate past governor of the state.

According to the special assistant, the eight-day exercise was conducted in Gudu, Tangaza, Binji, Wamakko, Silame and Kwara local government areas.

Mani said  the exercise  will be rounded off at the Palace of Chiroman Sokoto, in Sokoto North local government.

He said that the ailments covered by the treatment include refractive errors, with eye glasses, infections like conjunctivitis, as well as uveitis. (NAN)
