Lagos, Jan. 25, 2017 (NAN) Two sales representatives, Solomon Ogbemudia and Ijeoma Ikenya , have been docked for allegedly stealing food stuff worth N3, 500 belonging to their employer.
A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday in Lagos slammed a bail of N10, 000 on each of the duo and ordered them to also provide one surety each in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mr Omolaja Kazeem said the sureties must be blood relations of the accused persons and adjourned the case to Jan. 30 for mention.
Ogbemudia, 26 and Ikenya, 25, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
They however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Philip Osijiale, told court that the accused committed the offences on Jan. 8 at about 9:00 p.m. at Evron Food Store on Chevron Drive, Lekki, Lagos.
He alleged that the accused stole Ogbono, a plastic can of banga spices, stock fish and melon.
“The accused were in the habit of sneaking goods out of the store and had almost wrecked the store but they were caught this time,’’ he said.
The offences contravened Sections 285 (5), (a) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. (NAN)
