COVID-19: Goddosky FC boss appeals to wealthy Nigerians to provide food for the poor, vulnerable citizens

Abuja, April 25, 2020 (NAN) Chief Eloka Agbasimelo, Chairman of Goddosky Football Club, Anambra has called on well-to-do Nigerians to provide for the poor and vulnerable households to ease the effect of the lockdown.
Agbasimelo made the call in an interview with a correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday.
“Government alone cannot reach out to all Nigerians. Well-to-do Nigerians must support government’s efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the poor.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on all prominent individuals, elected representatives and government officials to do more to ease the sufferings of our people in this trying period,” he said.
Agbasimelo said through his foundation, Oga Ndi Oga Foundation (ONOF), food stuffs and other relief materials were distributed to thousands of people in Lagos state.
He said the measure was to cushion the effect of the coronavirus and sit-at-home order by the government.
“We recently distributed about 1,000 bags of rice, cartoons of groundnut oil, bags of garri and other condiments to help the people of Nnewi South comprising of five communities living in Lagos to get through this difficult period,” he added.
The philanthropist and proprietor of Nationwide League One (NLO) side, Goddosky FC of Anambra said:”all hands must be on deck to defeat the pandemic and get the country running again. (NAN)
