Abuja, Jan. 23, 2017 (NAN) A senior lecturer with the University of Jos, Dr Benedicta Daudu, has dragged her employer to court challenging her suspension from duty.
Daudu, who filed a suit against the university at the National Industrial Court, Abuja, held that her suspension in 2016 was unlawful.
She joined both the Council and Senate of the University of Jos as co-defendants in the suit.
Daudu prayed the court to prevail on the university to set aside the suspension and reinstate her back to her position at the institution’s Faculty of Law.
The university had held that the claimant’s suspension was based on an allegation of examination malpractice in a programme she undertook in the school.
The institution filed a motion of notice for extension of time to file its defence and counter affidavit in the suit.
The judge, Justice Rakiya Haastrup, adjourned the case till Feb. 22 for hearing of all applications. (NAN)
