Birnin Kebbi, April 19, 2018 (NAN) The Kebbi Development Forum (KDF) says it has distributed farm inputs to 1,345 farmers to increase agricultural production in the state.
The forum’s chairman, Alhaji Bala Sakaba, made the disclosure in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday during an interaction with newsmen.
He said that KDF is a non-partisan organisation, whose main objective was to foster unity and development in the state.
He said that the farm inputs were part of the forum’s efforts to assist farmers to improve the state’s agricultural activities.
Sakaba, who said the forum in conjunction with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) approved N300 million for distribution to state’s farmers, charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the loans.
‘‘Each of the registered farmers is expected to repay the loan at a stipulated time,” he said.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Malam Muhammad Limam, commended CBN and KDF for the assistance to farmers. (NAN)
