LG Congress: APC Appeal Committee strikes out all petitions in Adamawa

Yola, May 17, 2018 (NAN) All Progressives Congress (APC) Appeal Committee for Ward/Local Government Congresses in Adamawa has struck out all petitions before it in respect of Saturday’s local government congresses in the state.
Announcing its verdict on the petitions on Thursday in Yola, Chairman of the committee, Sen. Nurudeen Usman, said three petitions were received on the congresses and that all was rejected.
He said that two of the petitions were struck out for lack of merit, while the third, filed by one Usman Ibrahim from Madagali Local Government Area, was struck out following request for withdrawal by the petitioner.
Usman said that the committee sat for three days to receive petitions as mandated by the party.
He commended party members in the state for their support and cooperation with the committee in discharging its assignment.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the committee had last week, treated 10 petitions regarding the May 5 Ward Congress in the state.
Eight of the petitions were dismissed and two were approved. (NAN)
