Jibo said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Bauchi.

According to him, the partnership was aimed at strengthening the existing cordial relationship between the tax payers and the board.

He said that such partnership would further resolve difficulties encountered by tax collectors in the state in the recent past.

According to him, the board has held talks with the leadership of the traders’ unions in that direction.

The board chairman said that the board would also ensure a unified rate for petty traders.

“The board will partner with traders’ unions so that the problems encountered whenever tax collectors go to the field will be addressed.

“To achieve this, we have met with the leaderships of the unions and through them, defaulters will be compelled to pay their taxes as at when due,” he said.

Jibo said that the board would execute some minor projects in markets to boost the existing cordial relationship.

“The board, through its community project unit, will in its own little way execute minor projects such as public toilets for the tax payers in the market places,” he said. (NAN)
