Kuje (FCT), May 26, 2018 (NAN) Rev. Babatola Olutimehin of the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA), Kuje Area Council, FCT, has called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of tolerance and forgiveness to live a glorious life.

Olutimehin made the call on Saturday in Kuje at a funeral service held in honour of Late Mr Samuel Lanto, a Former Chairman of Kuje Area Council.

Late Lanto was the Chairman, Kuje Area Council between 1990 and 1993.

The cleric said the call was necessary to ensure peaceful co-existence and promote national development, adding that Late Lanto was an epitome of peace, who accommodated people irrespective of religion and tribe.

The cleric urged politicians to be selfless, visionary and humble to be able to build legacies that could be emulated when they had gone.

“I want to encourage you all to show love and tolerance to one another as Christ taught us because forgiveness is all about love.

“As Christians, forgiveness is the only way we can get closer to God and show God’s love.

“So, I urge you, particularly the youths, to show love at all time to promote peaceful co-existence among yourselves irrespective of our tribes, religion, ethnicity and background,” he said.

Alhaji Abdulahi Galadima, the Chairman, Kuje Area Council, described Lanto’s death as painful to the entire council, adding that his legacy would forever be remembered.

He said Late Lanto was a mentor and a successful politician, who had impacted on the lives of young politicians in the FCT.

Galadima, therefore, urged young politicians and youths in the council to shun negative tendencies and embrace positive values to ensure peace and unity in the area council.

In his remark, Alhaji Zakari Angulu, Member Representing Abuja South Constituency in the House of Representative, described Late Lanto as a visionary leader that every young politician would want to emulate. (NAN)
