Abuja, May 12, 2017 (NAN) The National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, says the service will collaborate with the Association of Northern Nigerian Students in its campaign for efficient service delivery.

Akajemeli said this when she received the executive members of the association in her office in Abuja on Friday.

She noted that the visit of the students was in line with the “Catch them Young’’ programme of the service.

She observed that the programme would inculcate in the younger generation the culture of transparent and honest service delivery.

“I am happy that we are going to partner; and I see in you patriotic Nigerians who are looking out for the common good of the country.

“We will synergise and I urge you as an association to have honesty of purpose by and add value to yourselves as a group and as an individual for development of the country,’’ she said.

She also advised the students not to tolerate poor service delivery by by always reporting such service delivery to SERVICOM units.

She said her administration would ensure citizen- centred service delivery, insisting that ministries departments and agencies ought to put the people at the centre while carrying out their responsibilities.

Akajemeli noted that inability of ministries departments and agencies to establish a standardised service process was a major hindrance to efficient and effective service delivery.

The president of the association, Mr Omoba Michael, earlier congratulated Akajemeli on her appointment.

He, however, stated that the association would synergise with the organisation to enable them to take the advocacy to various campuses.

Michael said they would use campuses a platforms for enlightening  other students on ways and where to report poor service delivery in public offices.(NAN)
