Lagos, June 6, 2017(NAN) An engineer, Olalekan Alli, 40, was on Tuesday brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly damaging a fuel pump, valued at N827,000.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Ezekiel Ayorinde, told court that Alli committed the offence on April 23 at Pleasure Bus-Stop on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
He said that the accused drove a Toyota Camry car dangerously and damaged a fuel pump at Ama Zuma Filling Station.
“The accused, while trying to buy fuel reversed his car and knocked down the filling station’s fuel pump.
“As a result of that the other seven fuel pumps were affected,” Ayorinde said, noting that the offence contravened Section 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Alli, who resides at Sango-Otta in Ogun, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.J. Awope, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200, 000.
She directed that Alli must also produce two sureties as part of the bail condition, noting that the sureties should be gainfully employed.
Awope said that the sureties should show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until June 28 for mention. (NAN)
