Ilorin, May 6, 2017 (NAN) Kwara United FC of Ilorin, on Saturday defeated city rival Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC to emerged the champion of the state’s Federation Cup.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the final match was played at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
Bishop Onyeudo scored the only goal of the final in the 58th minute.
The first half ended goalless with both sides having wasted too many scoring opportunities.
Adeshina Gata did not spare his former team, Kwara United, with his dribbling skills as he was a nightmare for the Harmony Boys.
The midfield maestro was always begging his teammates to come receive the ball from him in most occasions.
Abubakar Chindo was the man player in the midfield as he always stylishly dribbled pass Kwara United midfielders.
Kwara United’s Philip Asuquo troubled ABS FC’s defense with his long range passes but Ernest Governor was always standing firm to dislodge the passes.
Onyeudo received a beautiful pass from Shola Suleiman to beat Yinka Adewale in goal for the Saraki Boys to register the lone goal of the game.
NAN reports that Kwara United has now won the trophy for keep having won it three times consecutively.
Both sides will now represent Kwara in the main competition which draw has now been scheduled for May 30.(NAN)
