OmU-Aran (Kwara), April 15, 2017 (NAN) The Youths in Osi, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara have commended Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara over the recent launch of the construction of Ekiti campus of the Kwara State University (KWASU).
The youths under the ages of Osi Youth Forum (OYF) stated this in a message signed by its representative Mr Shola Bamidele and Mr Shola Asaholu in Osi on Saturday.
The forum said the launching of the construction of the Osi campus of the state university was long being expected, saying that its reality was a promised fulfilled by the government.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Ahmed had on Tuesday launched the N1.5 billion College of Social Science and Environmental Studies in Osi as part of the campus of the Kwara State University, Molete.
The project, according to Ahmed, was expected to be completed in 52 weeks.
The forum in the statement said the government had by the singular act demonstrated its sincere love and affection for the people of Ekiti in particular and Kwara South Senatorial District in general.
The forum also praised Sen. Bukola Saraki, the initiator of the project during his reign as governor for its pragmatism and exemplary leadership style.
According to the forum, Saraki’s wisdom in citing the project in Osi as part of the strategies for sustainable socio-economic development deserved adequate recognition and commendation.
“We the youths in Osi under the auspices of Osi Youth Forum hereby expressed our profound appreciation to the State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed and President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki for the honour.
“It is our belief that the location of one of the campuses of the state university recently launched in Osi will mark the beginning of expected further transformation and development in the community.
“We are using this opportunity to express our unalloyed support to the government and party leadership under Sen. Bukola Saraki in their quest toward ensuring the wellbeing of the people of the state,” the forum added.
The forum also recognised the role played by prominent indigenes such as Mr Gabriel Adewumi (Gabson), Hon Ebun Owolabi, Ekiti council Chairman, the Olosi of Osi, Oba Solihu Adasofegbe and other stakeholders in making the project launch a huge success. (NAN)
