Ibadan, April 20, 2017 (NAN) Hajia Aminat Adebayo-Shittu, the President and Founder of Ideal Forum Initiative (IFI), says the non-governmental organisation is committed to supporting the vulnerable in the society.
Adebayo-Shittu spoke in Ibadan at the public presentation and lecture of the non-governmental organisation which had as theme:“ Sacrificing for Humanity.’’
She said that no fewer than 500 people had already benefited from the humanitarian gesture of the organisation.
The founder and wife of the communications minister said that the organisation came into existence to give hope to orphans, widows and those living with disabilities.
“It has always been on my mind to help the needy and vulnerable in the society. There are a lot of them around and Ideal Forum Initiative came into existence to give hope to orphans, widows, less privileged and physically challenged.
“ I want to assure them that it is a new dawn for them. Please continue to pray for us so that we would get more help too from those who have so that we can reach more people.
“This is not our first time of providing for the vulnerable but we are now more determined and hope to take it to a higher level by capturing more beneficiaries,” she said.
The wives of Kwara and Ogun governors, Omolewa Ahmed and Olufunso Amosun respectively, also canvassed for sustained efforts to assist the needy.
The duo, who were represented at the event, recounted how their individual pet projects in their respective states helped reduce poverty.
Dignitaries at the occasion included Oba Adedamola Badmus, the Olu-Aso of Iberekodoland, Igboora, High Chief Lekan Balogun,the Otun-Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Lateef Adebimpe, the Asipa Balogun of Ibadanland and Prof. Olatunde Fawole, Rector, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.(NAN)
