Windhoek, Oct. 21, 2019 (Xinhua/NAN) The Wild horses of Namibia on Monday welcomed two new foals, Namibia Wild Horses Foundation announced.
The Secretary of the Namibia Wild Horses Foundation, Christine Swiegers, said that the two new fillies were born on Oct. 20.
“The good news is that they are both fillies. It is important that the female population be replenished.
“This brings the number of foals born in 2019 to three, with one having been born in September.
the wild horses are currently thriving while hyenas are currently not a threat.
“Hyenas have not been seen around so they might have moved off temporarily in search of easier prey,“ Swiegers said.
In July, the non-profit organisation reported that the wild horses were thriving after it rained in theKalahari Desert.
Meanwhile, about 29 more foals were being expected from now until end of October.
However, the new foals bring the number of wild horses to 74.(Xinhua/NAN)
