Enugu, Feb. 23, 2017 (NAN) The new Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Danmalam Mohammed, has assured residents of the state of the readiness of the command to combat all forms of criminality.
Danmalam gave the assurance on Thursday in Enugu after he formally took over from the former Commissioner of Police, Mr Douglas Agbonleni.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Agbonleni retired after reaching the age of 60 on Feb. 22.
Danmalam said the police, under his command, would be more dedicated to combating crime and ridding the state of all forms of criminality.
“I am here in Enugu State to serve the good people of the state.
“This will be achieved through partnership with members of the public, the media and other relevant stakeholders.
“I, therefore, solicit the cooperation of members of the public in this direction,’’ he said.
NAN recalls that before his new position to Enugu State, Danmalam was the Commissioner of Police in-charge of Community Policing, Force Headquarters Abuja. (NAN)
