Minna, Jan.9,2017 ( NAN) No fewer than 206 kidnap suspects were arrested by Niger Police Command in different part of the state in 2016.

Alhaji Muazu Zubairu, State Commissioner of Police, disclosed this on Monday in Minna in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said that 58 cattle rustlers were also arrested, while 1, 321cattle and 612, sheep were recovered.

He added that the command also rescued 51 kidnap victims and arrested 93 armed robbery suspects at different part of the state last year.

The commissioner said within the same period, 119 suspects were also arrested for culpable homicide and charge to various courts.

Zubairu said that this year, the command has come out with security strategies that would make it difficult for criminals to operate in the state and solicited the support of residents.
