Ilorin, July 22, 2019 (NAN) The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Kogi, Mr Edward Meseko, has advised party delegates and loyalists to ensure activities that will promote free and fair Aug. 29 primary election in the state.
In an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Monday, he said that party loyalists’ useful conducts will prepare the minds of the electorate for the November 16 governorship election in the state.
He said that he had confidence that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and stakeholders in the party would conduct free and fair primary election the state.
“I am sure APC will not repeat the mistake it made in Zamafara by which the party, through observed irregularity in the conduct of primaries, lost the state to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“The primaries will be very free and fair because of the calibre of people that will be conducting the primary who will not allow irregularity.
Meseko observed further that APC lost the Yagba Federal House of Representatives seat to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2019 because of irregular in the party primaries.(NAN)
