Immunisation

Dutse, Jan. 30, 2017 (NAN) The Kiyawa Local Government Council of Jigawa said it was planning to immunize no fewer than 79,000 children against polio in the ongoing polio immunisation there.
The council’s Information Officer, Malam Balarabe Abdullahi, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Monday
Abdullahi said that the council had received enough doses of Oral Polio Vaccines (OPVs) for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
He said that the children would be immunised against polio and other child-killer diseases during the exercise.
He added that the council had provided cartons of sweets to woo children so that they would participate in the exercise.
He said that the council had also engaged community and religious leaders to mobilise people in their respective domains to participate.
Abdullahi, therefore, urged parents and guardians to cooperate with the health workers in order to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
