Jos, Feb 5, 2017.(NAN) A visiting clergy from South Africa, Pastor Ben Uloko, has cautioned Christians against limiting `change’ to the capacity to acquire material and other worldly things.

“Some Christians limit change to the possession of new cars, houses, clothes or other material things they lust for.

“That kind of change is temporary and should not the major concern of the Christian,” Uloko said in Jos, in a Sunday sermon at the Shepherd International Assembly, Zaramaganda.

“For a change that will turn your life around, God will first change your revelation and psychology, which will facilitate access to the things you desire in life,” he said.

In a sermon he titled: “the invading force”, he charged Christians to be above the desires of the flesh.

“To be the light that Christ said we must be, Christians must strive to be different; they must show that they are not of the world, even while in the world.

“God has taken the full price of our iniquities and burden through the death of his son, so righteousness is a gift because we are the glory of Christ,” he said.

He explained that the characteristics of the invading spirit was for the faithful to be truly born of God, become one with Him and have the knowledge that they indeed have the seal of the holy spirit.

The Cleric also counseled Christians on the need to be wary of what came out of their mouths.

“ Words are powerful instruments of provision; the word of the believer is his greatest weapon and that is what defines him.

“You cannot say my condition cannot change and expect God to change it; speak what you want in your life irrespective of the situation you find yourself.

“ You must also learn to make sacrifices in love; God sacrificed his son for our salvation, so you must give your tithes, offerings and be a helping hand to your neighbour,” he said.

Uloko said that Christians should, above all, submit to spiritual authority so as to access to divine grace. (NAN)
