Abuja, Feb. 28, 2020 (NAN) Mohammed Sani, the new coach of Nasarawa state male volleyball team, on Friday in Abuja said the team’s target for now was promotion to the 2021 Volleyball Premier League.

Sani told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that they were going to work hard to feature in the premier league.

“I will ensure that we achieve this target. Now we have 25 players on ground to play in the 2020 volleyball national division one league. We can achieve our target with that,’’ the former coach of Yobe volleyball team told NAN.

He said he had taken into account the team’s strengths and weaknesses and would work on them to achieve their target.

“We will fight well to finish first in the first and second rounds of the national division one competition. I know the strengths of each player in the team and I know what we can do with that.

“But we need to intensify our training as my players are determined to proceed to the next stage of the competition.

“We can achieve our goal with seriousness, dedication and determination. We will work hard to lift the trophy this year,’’ Sani said.

He disclosed that the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has given the club the necessary support to ensure they were successful.

NAN reports that the Nasarawa state team will not feature in the volleyball event of the upcoming 20th National Sports Festival (NSF) after being disqualified at the zonal elimination competition.(NAN)
