New FMC Keffi board tasks staff on dedication

Keffi (Nasarawa State), March 9, 2018 (NAN) Mr Sule Sadiq-Sami, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Governing Board, Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Keffi, Nasarawa State, has charged workers of the hospital to be redouble their dedication to duties for effective healthcare service delivery.
Sadiq-Sami gave the task on Friday during the board`s maiden visit/ interactive session with management and staff members of the centre in Keffi.
He promised to give priority to staff welfare to boost healthcare service delivery.
The board chairman said that given priority to workers welfare would not only improve on their productivity but would also improve the health status of the people of the state and Nigeria at large considering the importance of health to the development of the society.
“We are here to do our job without fear or favour and with the fear of God as well as to make you happy as long as you are making the patients happy especially in the area of improved welfare,” he said.
Sadiq-Sami advised the staff to be punctual, loving and friendly to patients, warning however that it would no longer going to be business as usual.
The chairman who tagged the board as a “Dream Team” also assured the management staff of the centre of the board`s willingness and commitment to harness available resources in the centre for infrastructural development.
“We will ensure enhanced staff welfare in cognizance with President Buhari`s change philosophy of zero tolerance for corruption,” he said.
The Medical Director of the centre, Dr Joshua Ndom-Giyan, congratulated the board members on their appointments and assured them of the management`s cooperation for effective service delivery.
Ndom-Giyan called on the staff members to support the board to enable them succeed.
The medical director informed the board members that he is committed in ensuring infrastructural development and enhanced staff welfare in the centre.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting was attended by other management staff and labour leaders, including the Chairman of Senior Staff Association of the centre, Mr Isaac Achimugu.
NAN recalls that Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, inaugurated the members of government boards of MDAs under the ministry on March 6. (NAN)
