Court remands farmer for causing hurt to six persons in Gombe

Gombe, March 4, 2020 (NAN) A Doma Area Court in Gombe on Wednesday, ordered the remand of a 27-year-old farmer, Aminu Abubakar, in a correctional centre for causing hurt to six persons.
The defendant, who resides in Hayin Misau quarters, Gombe, pleaded guilty to the charge and begged for leniency.
The trial judge, Aminu Haruna, ordered the accused person to be remanded in a correctional centre and adjourned the case until March 19, for judgement.
Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Insp. Babaji Balarabe told the court that on Feb. 28, the defendant spiked the victims’ drinks with “Haukata Yaro” a local immune boosting substance.
He alleged that all six victims, Nuhu Adamu; Idriss Adamu, Umar Haruna, Musa Sinusi, Abubakar Okasha and Muhammad Abubaka, residents of Yalanguruza quarters, Gombe, became unconscious and had to be rushed to a Gombe State Specialist Hospital for medical examination.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 249 of the Penal code (NAN)
