Abuja, Oct. 14, 2018 (NAN) The Basic Registry and Information System in Nigeria (BRISIN), said on Sunday that the implementation of its programme would go a long way toward attracting more investors to the country.
The Coordinator of the programme, Dr Anthony Uwa, said this at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum in Abuja.
Uwa explained that the implementation of the programme would open up all areas of investment to potential investors both within and outside the country as credible data on the economy of the country would be provided.

“For investors, it is going to help them know the market, know why they are investing and know when the investment profit will come; for Nigerians it is a golden opportunity.
“Today, if you invest one trillion naira to a particular state in BRISIN, the same year you will get ten trillion because you now know your economy, because you now understand all the underground economy that has been there wasting
“Any government who want actually to solve the problem of the nation with all the social vices thinks of BRISIN.
“Even if the government cannot fund BRISIN, because of the economic importance of BRISIN, you have so many investors who want to help you invest in BRISIN.”

According to Uwa, the implementation of BRISIN will also assist the Federal Government to identify key areas of investment for the Nation’s GDP growth.
He, however, urged the government, well-meaning Nigerians and Nigerians in the diaspora to embrace and invest more in the scheme for the betterment of the nation.
“No country develops without its citizen’s participation, so those who say they love Nigeria should come and participate in the development of Nigeria.
“Nigerians in the diaspora should bring their support to make sure that BRISIN is built and is functional; politicians should also come out and support this project.
“BRISIN is very transparent and any penny spent by BRISIN will be made known to everybody, that is why it is so vital and I am sure both Nigerians and investors will put their money down for BRISIN,’’ Uwa said.
NAN reports that BRISIN is an integrated system for the collection, storage and distribution of information to support the management of the economy.
It aims at bringing developmental and economic growth in the country through the use of data collection of people and other relevant information. (NAN)
