2019/2020 Post UTME: Nacabs poly commences screening in Nasarawa

Akwanga (Nasarawa State), July 29, 2019 (NAN) The Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, has advised prospective students to appear for the screening of 2019/2020 academic session next week.
This is contained in a statement issued by the institution’s Deputy Registrar, Mr Usman Oga, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Akwanga.
It said the screening would hold between Sept. 2 and Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. daily in the institution.
“This is for all candidates who applied for admission into Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, for 2019/2020 Academic Session
“And who made the Polytechnic their institution of first or second choice and scored 120 and above in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
“Candidates who did not choose Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, but wish to effect a change, are encouraged to make the Polytechnic their first choice by contacting the relevant Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Accredited Centre for Change of Institution.
“Or contact the institution through the school JAMB Coordinator.
“For further information: Contact +2348035922831, +2347064515111,” the statement read in part.
It also enjoined the applicants to come with the following documents: original UTME slip, original `O’ Level statement of results, indigene certificate, declaration of age/birth certificate and two passports sized photograph.
“The screening form fee is N2,500 and screening fee is N2,000 while acceptance is N1,000.
“The payment is through the account of the Polytechnic with a teller issue from the bursary.
“Candidates are to complete the screening form and proceed to their departments of choice for screening,” the statement added.
Besides, the candidates are advised to strictly adhere to the guidelines stipulated above, adding that non-JAMB candidates can also attend thorough JAMB regularisation. (NAN)

Nacabs Poly grants scholarship to 300 Nasarawa students

Akwanga (Nasarawa State), July 9, 2019 (NAN) Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, has revealed plans to grant scholarship to 300 students for 2019/2020 academic session.
Mr Mandy Abuluya, Proprietor of the polytechnic, made this known on Tuesday in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akwanga.
He explained that the gesture was in line with his desire to provide opportunity for less privileged children of society to acquire higher education.
According to him, the 2019/2020 academic session scholarship beneficiaries were different from the over 155 students, who are currently on scholarship of the institution.
“I will offer scholarship to 300 children to read the courses of their choice in this institution for the 2019/2020 academic session.’’
Abuluya explained that each of the first class and other graded traditional rulers in the state would be given a number of slots of the scholarship to produce beneficiaries from their respective chiefdoms and domains.
He noted that the measure was to ensure that the benefit got to all parts and sections of the state.
“I will give slots to first class and other graded traditional rulers to bring candidates from their respective domain who qualified for the scholarship.
“I will also give some slots to the former Presidents and senators constituting the Students Union Government, SUG, of the institution to bring their candidates so as to benefit from 2019/2020 scholarship award.’’
On academic programmes, the proprietor revealed that plans were on by the institution to commence full fledge Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in six courses.
He enumerated the courses bid for the commencement of HND to include Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Electronics Engineering and Statistics.
According to him, the institution is expecting accreditation team from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) any moment from now.
He expressed optimism that the visit by the NBTE accreditation team would boost the commencement of full fledge HND programmes in the above courses.
The proprietor restated his continued commitment to initiate good education policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the students and staff of the institution. (NAN)

Proprietor wants Nasarawa gov-elect to prioritise science, technical education

Akwanga (Nasarawa State), April 12, 2019 (NAN) Mr David Abuluya, the Founder of Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, has called on the incoming administration in the state to give prioritise science and technical education because of their importance to national development.
Abuluya made the appeal on Friday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akwanga.
He said that the nation and the entire world had gone through computerisation, hence the need for the incoming administration to prioritise science and technical education in the state.
“I want to appeal to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State to declare state of emergency in Science and technical education in the state.
“The state science education is deteriorating. If state of emergency is not declared, this state will be completely left out of science and technology in this technological era of world computerisation.
“Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the Nasarawa State governor-elect is a science oriented man. If he had not gone through the sciences that time, he would not be where he is today in terms of engineering.
“I believe when he get there (sworn-in) as governor, the science and technical education which some of us have being yearning for since he will look into it,” he said.
Abuluya also commended the state governor-elect for sponsoring five students annually in the institution for the past three years.
“How I wish Engr. A A Sule will extend what he had done for Nacabs to the whole state.
“He has sponsored five students to this place for the past three years and he will pay the school fees once and we appreciate him for that.
“Now that he is the governor-elect, I pray and wish that this message would get to him so that we will give more scholarship to the less privileged,” he added.
The proprietor disclosed that the school has also awarded tuition free scholarship to more than 150 students studying in the institution.
He said that the aimed of the scholarship is to encourage indigent children who want to go to school but cannot afford the registration.
According to him, their tuition fee is free for the period of their studies in the institution.
Abuluya also advised the students against cultism, examination malpractice and other social ills capable of affecting their education and the society at large. (NAN)

Akwanga (Nasarawa State), April 23, 2018 (NAN) Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF) has pledged to build a hostel students of Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
Prof. Charles Adisa, National President of the association, made this known on Monday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akwanga of the state.
He said that the importance of hostel in any institution cannot be over-emphasised to the development of the education sector, hence the need for the association to provide accommodation for the students.
Adisa, also a professor of Surgery and Surgical Oncologist, Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Umuahia, commended Mr David Abuluya, the proprietor of the school for establishing the institution.
“NCGF is made up of professionals from different tribes and groups, as we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to Christians and other Nigerians as well as offering humanitarian services.
“When I was discussing with the proprietor, I noticed that there is a lot of space and I was asking if all their students are living in the school, he said no and I said that it will be nice if we partner with them and build a very good hostel for the students.
“He said that they will be very willing on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangement.
“The NCGF by the grace of God has the capacity to do that because we have members all over the nation who can pool their resources together and give the students a befitting accommodation.
“We are all aware that the importance of hostels in the school for students cannot be over-emphasised to development of education sector.
“We have experts and professionals. We can also be part of mentorship of these students and we can also help in offering free medical services and other skills through training,’’ he said.
Adisa called on the students to take their studies seriously to excel in their academic pursuits.
He advised the students against cultism, examination malpractice and other negative tendencies that would stall their future.
The proprietor of the institution said he was overwhelmed receiving officials of the association in the polytechnic.
Abuluya assured them of his readiness to partner with them to improve on the standard of education in the institution and the state at large. (NAN)
