Ogun APC governorship candidate pledges improved economy

Ijebu-Ode (Ogun), Jan. 21, 2019 (NAN) Dapo Abiodun, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun, has pledged to boost the socio-economic development of the state if elected.
Abiodun made the pledge on Monday in Ijebu-Ode during his ward-to-ward campaign.
He expressed his determination to introduce policies that would address the yearnings of the people and ensure equal distribution of wealth.
Abiodun said poverty and lack of infrastructure were threats to the nation’s corporate existence and urged the people to support him in his quest to take the state to its next level.
“The Olokola Free Trade Zone at Ogun Waterside will be resuscitated when we mount leadership as we look to woo more investment into the state to revamp our revenue base.
“Public infrastructure to meet our demands is non-existent, there are no good roads, especially in the hinterlands and we want to address this.
“Your sufferings are about to end as we know your pains and we will do all we can to give you the good life you deserve,” he said.
Abiodun, a native of Iperu in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun, promised to work with all arms of government to ensure massive socio-economic development.
He said that mutual political understanding between the legislative and executive arms of government would pave the way for development while the masses would have a sense of belonging.
The oil magnate further said that the electorate would truly access the dividends of democracy if the three tiers of government adhered strictly to their constitutional responsibilities.
He called on politicians to demonstrate political maturity in ensuring smooth and peaceful conduct of the electoral processes.
While commending the efforts of security agencies toward maintaining peace, Abiodun advised them to provide a level playing ground for smooth conduct of the elections.
He warned security agencies against being partisan to enable the electorate to elect leaders of their choice.
Abiodun also promised to use his office, if victorious in the March 2 poll, to attract federal presence to the state in terms of infrastructure.
The APC flagbearer, who urged the people of the state to vote en-masse for the party’s candidates in the polls, also urged them to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards before the Feb. 8 deadline set by INEC. (NAN)
