WBSC announces pools, schedules for 2017 Junior Women’s Softball World Championship

Lagos, June 14, 2017 (NAN) The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has released the pools and official game schedule for the 2017 Junior Women’s Softball World Championship.

The event will hold from July 24 to July 30 at Clearwater in Florida, U.S.

The 26 nations participating in the women’s youth softball flagship event have been drawn into four pools and will play a round-robin to begin the world tournament.

According to a statement on WBSC website, Chinese Taipei, Guatemala, Italy, Philippines, Turkey, South Africa, and the U.S are in Pool A.

Australia, Bahamas, Brazil, Israel, Japan, Netherlands and Peru are in Pool B, while India, Argentina, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, New Zealand and Puerto Rico are in Pool C.

Also, Pool D comprises of Canada, China, Great Britain, Ireland, Korea and Mexico.

A total of 99 games will be played over seven days before crowning softball’s world champions. (NAN)
