2019 Hockey Super League: Police Machine beat Stallions to go top

Abuja, June 18, 2019 (NAN) Police Machine defeated Stallions of Lagos 3-0 in the male competition of the 2019 Hockey Super League on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a total of eight teams are participating in the men’s competition while six teams make up the women’s competition.

Muis Bello scored in the 13th minute, while Ibrahim James scored in the 50th minute, and Olowoyeye Oluwatobi in the 52nd minute to give the Police Machine the win.

Earlier in the day at the competition, Niger Flickers beat Yobe Desert Rollers 3-0 in an entertaining game.

With three matches played each, the Police Machine are on top of the table after day three of the league in the men’s competition.

Although Police Machine, Kada Stars and Niger Flickers all have nine points each, the Police team have a better goal difference, while FCT Flickers are bottom of the log with no points for now.

The 2019 Hockey Super League which started on Sunday is expected to end on Saturday.(NAN)
