NDE disbuses resettlement loans to 13 graduates of EBTS in Kano state

Kano, Nov. 6, 2019 (NAN)The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on Wednesday disbursed resettlement loans to no fewer than 13 graduates under its 2018 Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS).
The Kano State NDE Coordinator, Alhaji Iliyasu Ahmad disclosed this at the disbursement of the resettlement loan to the beneficiaries in Kano.
He said our of the number of beneficiaries, 10 were males while the remaining three were females.
Ahmad said that the beneficiaries were expected to start repayment of the loan after six months, and were expected to complete total repayment in three years.
The Coordinator warned the beneficiaries against selling of the items, adding that anyone who indulged in such acts would be sanctioned.
The NDE Director general, Dr Nasiru Mohammed-Ladan, expressed the Directorate’s readiness to partner with all well meaning Nigerians in creating more job opportunities for young unemployed Nigerians.
“NDE is open to collaboration with all well meaning Nigerians for the onerous task of job creation,” the DG said.
According to him. The NDE was committed to creating more job opportunities for young employable Nigerians to enable them be self reliant.
“The idea behind the resettling the trainees is aimed at boosting jobs creation and spur the youth to contribute their quota to the national economy,’’ he said.
Represented by an Assistant Director, Mohammed-Ladan expressed the hope that such partnership between NDE and well-meaning Nigerians would assist in the extension of NDE programmes across the country.
Mohammed-Ladan also said that the partnership would help in addressing the increasing rate of youths unemployment in the country.
He said that the 416 beneficiaries out of the 1, 850 selected young Nigerians for the 2018 EBTS, had been provided with tools and cash as starter packs for their businesses.
He said that the beneficiaries had been equipped with skills in environmental renewal, sanitation, protection, beautification, ornamental tree planting and habitat conservation.(NAN).
