COVID-19: Presidential aide tasks Nigerians on proper hygiene

Abuja, March 20, 2020 (NAN) Dr Samuel Ankeli, Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to President Muhammadu Buhari on Disability Matters, has urged Nigerians to take their hygiene seriously in the face of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Ankeli said this in a statement signed by his press secretary, Mrs Jumoke Beyioku on Friday in Abuja.
He also urged Persons With Disabilities (PWD) to take their personal and environmental hygiene seriously in order to safeguard themselves and their families against COVID-19, Lassa fever and other deadly diseases.
He said that in spite of the current global pandemic, the Buhari administration had been striving to alleviate the plights of PWDs.
Ankeli said that the implementation strategy for the National Commission for Persons With Disabilities Act of 2018 which was to ensure their full integration into the society to would soon be pronounced by the President.
He said that some of the privileges that PWDs would enjoy included full participation in governance, education, healthcare services, social economic and civil rights.
Ankeli called on well meaning Nigerians, stakeholders, religious and traditional leaders to support PWDs in their quest to triumph for the development of the country.
He commended PWDs for their endurance and patience and assured them of good governance as well as dividends of democracy.(NAN)
