Kano, Jan. 21, 2023 ( NAN) Malam Ibrahim Khalil, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate in Kano State, has promised to prioritise education, health and the agriculture sectors, if elected.
Addressing newsmen in Kano on Friday, Khalil said: “We will ensure the provision of modern farming implements at government-controlled rates across the 44 local government areas of the state to boost all-year-round farming,” he said.
He explained that the provision of modern farming inputs for rural dwellers would ensure massive  food production and job creation among the teaming unemployed youths in the state.
Khalil  also promised to provide the required modern healthcare facilities in all public health institutions in the state, to meet the healthcare needs of the people.
“We will ensure the provision of learning materials as well as conducive environment for all students of public schools to enhance academic excellence,” the candidate said.

He said that a better and functional primary healthcare system would reduce pressure on tertiary hospitals and create access to quality healthcare for all.

He said that such programmes would address existing inequalities in healthcare delivery.

” I promise to make healthcare delivery qualitative and effective to expand access to services in all government hospitals.

“I will also strengthen health institutions by placing priority on construction of health infrastructure, ensuring availability and timely supply of drugs with modern health care facilities,” he said.

Khalil, who reiterated his commitment to the improvement of healthcare for residents of the state, said he would improve on the flagship primary healthcare programme to increase the number of quality public healthcare centres in the state.

The governorship candidate also assured of his readiness to reduce poverty and lack of access to potable water in the state.

He promised to explore ways of expanding the current water treatment plants to address water shortage in the Kano metropolis.

He urged members of the party who had not collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so at their polling units .

He said the PVCs remained the only tool needed to ensure the victory of the party’s candidates in the general elections.

He also called on supporters of the party to shun political violence and thuggery in the ongoing electioneering to ensure smooth implementation of the electoral process.(NAN)( www.nannews.ng)
