Daura (Katsina State), April 23, 2018 (NAN) Nigerian Geological Survey Agency has commenced
geological and hydrological survey in Daura Local Government of Katsina State to determine mineral deposit and underground water content in the area.

The Deputy Director of the agency, Mr Matthew Aghomishe, who led team of surveyors to acting Chairman of Daura Local Council,  Alhaji Lawal Kado-Kaita, made this known on Monday.

He said the survey was aimed at determining the mineral deposit and underground water content in the area.

He added that “we would also conduct geophysical survey to determine suitable areas for drilling of boreholes.”

He called for the cooperation and understanding of people of the area for the success of the project, stressing that the boreholes would stop the consumption of hard water by residents.

Aghomishe said “we would spend 30 days here to ensure wider coverage of the area and its environs.”

The acting chairman of Daura assured the agency of unconditional support to ensure the success of the project.

He said the council would disseminate the information to people of the area for proper understanding of the mission of the agency, noting that “We were highly elated at this project as it would boost the economy and promote consumption of safe and clean water.” (NAN)
