Abuja, May 27, 2019 (NAN) The police on Monday brought an applicant, one Mohammed Bello, before a Mpape Upper Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing a laptop valued at N450,000.

Bello, who resides at Mabushi Village, Abuja, was charged with criminal trespass, house breaking and theft.

The Prosecutor, Stanley Nwaforaku, told the court that one Major Saidu of NYSC Headquarters, Abuja, reported the matter at the Maitama Police Station, Abuja, on May 20.

He said that the laptop was yet to be recovered.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 348, 353 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to him.

Mohammad ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, while their addresses must be verified by a court staff.

The judge said that a copy of the sureties’ identification card must also be deposited with the court.
