Cashier in court for allegedly absconding with employer’s N147,690

Abuja, Oct. 30, 2019 (NAN) The police on Wednesday arraigned a 27-year-old cashier, Adams Alechenu, in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly absconding with his employer’s N147,690.
Alechenu, who lives in Mararaba, Nassarawa state is charged with two counts of breach of trust and cheating.
The prosecutor, Mrs Ijeoma Ukagha, told the court that the matter was reported by the complainant, Abalaka Zakari, who lives in Nassarawa State at the Karmo Police Station, Abuja, on Oct. 14.
Ukagha alleged that the defendant was employed as a cashier in Vinara Loaf Bread Company Idu Yard Abuja.
She alleged that the the defendant converted N147,690, realised from bread sales between March and August.
Ukagha said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 288 of the Penal Code.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N150, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Nov. 20 for further hearing.(NAN)
