Cleric optimistic of prosperity in 2020

Lagos, Dec. 23, 2019 (NAN) Rev.  Bayo Adeniran, the District Superintendent of the Apostolic Faith Church in West and Central Africa, has expressed optimism that Nigeria will rise from its present economic state to prosperity  in 2020.

Adeniran spoke with newsmen at the end of the 2019 Christmas Concert held on Sunday at the headquarters of the church, in Anthony Village, Lagos.

He prayed that God would grant the nation’s leadership wisdom to pilot the ship of the state to achieve growth and enlargement for the common man.

“This nation will be great if we live like Jesus Christ to serve God in spirit and truth,” he said.

Adeniran prayed that God would touch the hearts of insurgents fighting in some parts of the north to drop their  arms and embrace peace.

The cleric also urged Nigerians to embrace agriculture, saying returning to farming would enable Nigerians to feed themselves without  importing  food.

“We have been givien the treasures and natural resources in the land. May God grant us the wisdom to harness this to feed ourselves and other nations.

“Africa expects us to be in the leadership, showing what is right rather than leading in corruption.

“Let us move our country forward instead of backward,” he said.

Adeniran stressed the need for every Christian to adhere to the message of God on selfless service to  humanity.

He said that Jesus Christ came into the world to serve as a sacrificial lamb and be a blessing to humanity.

“I want the leadership and followers to live a life of sacrifice. We should cease from  running after ungodly wealth and seek to create wealth.

“The money that is given to us for the  benefit of the community should not be embezzled by greedy individuals,” he said.(NAN)
