Cleric tasks Christians on humility, love for others

Humility
By Polycarp Auta
Jos, March 22, 2020 (NAN) Rev. Fr. Samuel Azi, the Assistant Parish Priest of Church of Assumption Chongo’Pyeng, Jos, has advised Christians to be humble at all times.
Azi, who gave the advice in his sermon on Sunday in Jos, also urged Christians to exhibit deep love for others.
The cleric said humility and love were both virtues exhibited by Jesus, hence the need for all Christians to emulate.
Azi, who decried the increasing rate of pride among Christians, insisted that God blesses and exalts only the humble.
“Anyone who is humble will get anything from God; God blesses and exalts the humble.
“It is sad that in our world today, pride, particularly has taken charge of our lives.
“Many of us will be humble when we don’t have, but once God blesses us, we tend to put on the apron of pride. We tend to bring out our real colour.
“But, you must be humble in times of need and when you have it in abundance, you must also love one another, because God Himself is love,” he said.
Azi further urged Christians to show gratitude to God at all times. (NAN)
