CMD boss pledges transparency in bidding process

Abuja, Nov. 7, 2019 (NAN) The Acting Director-General,  Centre for Management Development (CMD), Mr Bitrus Chonoko has pledged to ensure transparency in the bidding process for capital projects.

Chonoko said this on Thursday during the 2019 opening of bidding for expression of Interest and prequalification for capital projects.

He affirmed that due diligence would be taken into consideration in looking into the proposals submitted by the bidders.

According to him, we want to have value for the money the government is investing in projects.

“We do not have a special preference for anyone,” he said.

The acting director-general assured bidders that the centre would ensure that the process conform to international best practice.

According to him, this will provide the necessary environment for fairness, equity, transparency and justice for all.

He commended representatives of various groups who attended the bid opening, and enjoined them to accept the final outcome of the exercise as only successful companies would be selected.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 76 companies participated in the bidding process.

The exercise was also attended by various companies including observers from Civil Society Organisations and some media organisations.

Some of the bidders who spoke to NAN expressed their satisfaction with the process and promised to accept the outcome of the process. (NAN)
