Jos, May 14, 2019 (NAN) The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) would commence its 2019 `shoot’’ training for film practitioners, Mr Brian Etuk, Head, Public and Intergovernmental Affairs, has said.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Shoot, which was conceived in 2005, is aimed at training film and media practitioners on technology upgrades in the industry.
Etuk, in an interview with NAN on Tuesday in Jos, said NFC, through its film Institute, had trained 2,700 professionals since inception of the programme.
“Shoot is a professional and capacity building training designed for film makers, television, radio, information and communication professionals.
“The capacity building involves updating the skills and production techniques of participants, which have arisen due to emerging technology upgrades, and the fast growing digitised communication spectrum.
“The training also targets scholars, students of film, television, theatre arts, advertising, public relations and new/intermediate media professionals,’’ he said.
The NFC official said that the 9th Edition of the one-week series, had been scheduled for June.
He advised organisations and industry practitioners to explore the training opportunity.
NAN reports that the training modules include scripting and acting, digital Cinematography, Directing, Production Management, Digital Editing for Film and Television.
Others are Digital Still Photography, Animation, Set Design and Construction, costume and makeup, as well as production skills for film, television and commercials. (NAN)
