Court remands man in prison over alleged housebreaking, stealing

Ile-Ife (Osun), June 21, 2019 (NAN) An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Friday remanded one Ogunlana Samson, 31, in prison custody over alleged housebreaking and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Cpl Odusina Olawale, told the court that Samson committed the offence on June 30, 2019, around 01:30 p.m. at Modomo Area, Ile-Ife.
Olawale said that the defendant broke into the residence of one Adesina Adebayo.
He added that the defendant entered into Adebayo’s residence with intent to commit felony.
According to him, the defendant stole an LG plasma TV, which value was yet to be ascertained, six I-phones and one Nokia phone, also not valued, and cash of N12, 500.
The prosecutor stated further that the offence contravened sections 383, 390, 411 and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Olukunle Owolawi, however, denied Samson bail, but ordered for his remand in prison.
Owolawi adjourned the case until July 26, for hearing. (NAN)
