Osogbo, March 5, 2020 (NAN) An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Thursday, ordered the remand of Samuel Olajide, 19 and Toheeb Hammed, 18 in Ilesa Correctional Centre for alleged burglary, conspiracy and theft.
The Magistrate, Mrs Rofiat Olayemi, had ordered that the accused be remanded due to the magnitude of the alleged offence.
The Prosecutor, ASP Fagboyinbo Abiodun, had told the court that the duo committed the offence at about 4:00 pm. on March 2 at Abija area, Alekunwodo, Osogbo.
Abiodun said that the accused broke into the apartment of one Segun Shittu and stole some wires, valued at N450,000, before they were apprehended.
He said that the offence contravened Sections 390(9), 516 and 411 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The duo, however, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of theft, conspiracy and burglary.
The counsel for the accused, Mr Najite Okobie, prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal terms.
The magistrate, however, overruled the bail application and ordered that the defendants be remanded in Ilesa facilities until the next adjourned date of March 30. (NAN)
