Ibadan, March 27, 2020 (NAN) The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) and other security agents have begun enforcement of compliance with precautionary measures at motor parks to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
The Executive Chairman, OYRTMA, Dr Akin Fagbemi, said this in a statement issued by the state Ministry of Information, on Friday in Ibadan.
According to him, the inter-agency team will ensure strict monitoring of compliance at public parks, garages and private transport companies across the state.
”Parts of the preventive measures rolled out by the state government are social distancing, suspension of religious activities and disbandment of gatherings with more than 30 people, among others.
“The state government had directed garages and commercial vehicle operators to adhere strictly to guidelines reeled out for them during this period.
”Anyone caught flouting the recommendations and guidelines would be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law,” he said.
Fagbemi said that the interagency collaboration would enhance government’s efforts at curtailing the spread of Coronavirus.
He commended the residents and parks operators for their understanding and cooperation towards eradicating the deadly disease. (NAN)
