Kaduna, June 6, 2018(NAN) A nursing mother, Bilkisu Abubakar on Wednesday asked the Sharia Court II sitting at Magajin Gari Kaduna, to grant her the custody of her four children who were taken away by their father.
The complainant told the court that her ex- husband, Hassan Muhammad, had divorce her seven months ago while she was pregnant and took away the the four children to his village.
The complainant said that her husband was assisted in taking away the children by members of a vigilante group in their area.

“When I visited the village, I saw my children in a sorry state; two of them were seriously sick and the other two were said to have gone to the bush to graze animals”.

She added that Muhammad had sold out a piece of land he gave her without her consent and also owes her N138, 000.
In his defence, the ex-husband denied taking the four children without the consent of his wife, adding that she willingly gave him the children.
He said that he neither borrowed from her nor gave her any land, explaining that he only gave her documents of a land for safe keeping.
The judge, Musa Sa’ad after listening to both parties asked the complainant if she had any witness.
The complainant, however, told the court that she had no witness except God, but added that there was a written agreement with regards to the land.
