Akure, April 12, 2020 (NAN) Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Sunday called for continuous prayers for health workers and others in the frontline of the battle against the deadly coronavirus.

The governor in his Easter message issued in Akure by his spokesman, Olusegun Ajiboye, said continuous prayers offered an assurance of victory against COVID-19.

“He urges Christians to see the stay at home order as a sacrifice to contain the spread of the virus just as Jesus gave his life to save the world.

“Akeredolu further tasks the people to emulate the virtues and preaching of Jesus Christ and celebrate Easter with moderation.

“The governor notes that the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a strong message to the people that they will come out stronger after the defeat of the virus, and asks them to remain hopeful of a better future,” the statement said. (NAN)
