Abakaliki, April 12, 2020 (NAN)Rev. Fr. Livinus Obijiofor, the Catholic Priest of St. Patrick Parish, Kpirikpiri Abakaliki in Ebonyi has called on Christians to continue to take precautionary measures against Covid-19 pandemic.
Obijiofor, who made the call during Easter services on Sunday, advised Christians to practice social distancing, washing of hands, stay at home and other hygiene protocols to prevent Covid-19 pandemic into the state.
The cleric also encouraged them on the need to carry out the orders in place as well as praying to God to stop the pandemic.
“Prevent yourselves and family members from the virus and always pray that the power of resurrection of Jesus Christ will save the world from coronavirus, ” Obijiofor said.
”The Easter celebration marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the event is a special celebration in the life of Christians.
Obijiofor urged Christians to celebrate indoors and live a fulfilled life by keeping God’s commandments.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the state anti-coronavirus task force was at the service to monitor compliance of social distancing and the use of face mask among other measures.
NAN also report that the gathering seeks God’s face to stop the epidemic ravaging the world. (NAN)
