Easter: Monarch, group felicitates with Christians, sue for peace, togetherness

Omu-Aran (Kwara), April 12, 2020 (NAN) Thetraditional ruler of Omu-Aran in Kwara, Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti, has urged Christians in the country to strive to imbibe unity and peaceful co-existence in their dealings with their neighbours.
The traditional ruler, popularly called the Olomu of Omu-Aran, made the call in his Easter message in Omu-Aran.
He said that only unity and togetherness could guarantee the desired transformation and socioeconomic development of the nation.
He urged Christians to reflect on the significance of the Holy season to intercede through prayers for workable solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic and other notable socioeconomic challenges.
He also enjoined them to emulate and replicate the exemplary virtues of Jesus Christ in their dealings with fellow humans to have a peaceful and harmonious society devoid of rancour and acrimony.
The monarch assured the people of the traditional institution’s continued support toward cushioning the effect of the government lockdown directive.
“I want use this opportunity to felicitate with our people, especially Christians on this auspicious and holy season of Easter celebration.
“What we need most now is prayers, particularly at this critical period of our existence for God’s divine grace, blessings and guidance on our lives.
“Let us continue to imbibe peace, unity and harmonious working relationship irrespective of our ethnicity, religion, tribe, political or geographic affiliations.
“We on our part will not relent in ensuring the welfare and well-being of the people, be it indigenes or non-indigenes, especially in cushioning the effect of the stay-at-home directive,” he said.
Similarly, Chief Bisi Adeyemi, President, Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA), urged Christians to reflect on the significance of Easter and offer prayers for the growth, progress and socioeconomic development of the community.
Adeyemi, who is also the Akeweje of Omu-Aran, described Easter as a sacred and holy season when the prayers of the righteous and devoted Christians are promptly answered.
He called for understanding, tolerance, unity and peaceful co-existence among the people of the community.
The High Chief said the present development as regards the COVID-19 pandemic required the prayers of every citizen for God’s divine intervention.
Adeyemi said the association had been working in synergy with the Olomu-In-Council in ensure the desired transformation envisioned for the community and its inhabitants.
“The ODA executive, on behalf of the good people of Omu-Aran community, hereby felicitate with Christians on this holy season.
“This is one period when the prayers of the righteous are answered, we enjoin Christians to reflect on this celebration to offer prayers for peace and stability of the nation,” he said. (NAN)
