Ed-el-Fitr: Nasarawa gov urges citizens to pray for peace, security

Lafia, June 3, 2019 (NAN) Ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has urged citizens to pray for peace, security and economic prosperity of the state.

Sule, in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Lafia, also advised the people to be law abiding and live peacefully with one another.

He said that the ‘government would not condone any act capable of breaching the existing peace prevailing in the state.

” Let us all put hands together individually and collectively to contribute our parts towards the sustenance of peace and security in our dear State,” he said.

The governor noted that for the past 30 days, Muslims the world over had observed the fasting in the sacred month of Ramadan in compliance with the Islamic injunction.

He explained that fasting in the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam aimed at strengthening the faithful.

The governor called on Muslims to re-affirm their obedience to Allah’s injunctions as contained in the noble Qur’an and follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).

He also called on the Federal Road Safety Corps and other security agencies to continue to be vigilant during the festive period.

Sule charged them to intensify efforts in controlling traffic to safeguard lives and property of the citizens. (NAN)
