Face the service year with all sense of responsibility – Gov. Bindow urges corps members

Yola, March 29, 2019 (NAN) Gov. Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa has admonished National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)  members posted to the state to face the service year with zeal and commitment to enable them garner experience.

The governor, who gave the advice on Friday in Yola while addressing 2019 Batch “A” corps members, assured them of peaceful service year in the state.

The governor’s speech was read by Secretary to the State Government, Dr Umar Bindir.

“While I congratulate you for joining the heroes of our national unity, at the same time I implore you to face the service year with all sense of duty. Start from this camp by being serious in all activities,” Bindow said.

He assured them that Adamawa was peaceful as proven by the just concluded general elections, adding that everything was being done to sustain the peace.

“I want to assure you that Adamawa state is the best place for you to serve profitably.

“While I welcome you to your new home, I enjoin you to relax and feel free,” he said.

The governor lauded the management of NYSC and corps members that participated in the just concluded general elections for their role in ensuring credible polls.

In his remarks, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Malam Abubakar Mohammed, urged the corps members to respect constituted authorities and the rules and regulations in the camp for a hitch-free orientation.

“During the orientation course therefore, you will be confined to a life of regimentation, which is designed purposely to mold you into becoming better and more responsible citizens,” Mohammed said.(NAN)
