Foundation donates food items to IDPs in Edo

Benin, Feb. 23, 2020 (NAN) The First Child and Prison Foundation, a non government organisation, on Sunday identified with the inmates of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp, Uhogua, near Benin.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the Foundation also presented food items to the widows as well as the children below three years of age in the camp.

Mr Martins Efe, Founder of the Foundation who presented the items to the inmates individually, said the essence of the visit and gesture was to help in every way possible in alleviating the hardship being experienced by the beneficiaries brought about by the activities of insurgents and terrorists.

Represented by Mr Uwa Efe, Director of Administration of the Foundation, tbe founder also said that reaching out to the widows and mothers was imperative as without them there would be no children.

He further said that the Foundation had been reaching out to IDPs, the less privileged widows and orphans across the country in the last five years.

According to him, the Foundation is into providing skills acquisition to the less privileged to nurture them towards self employment and sustainability.

Similarly, Mr Abraham Ogiemwanye, the South South Director of the Foundation, said that the visit to the IDPs camp was to let the inmates know that they are loved and cared for.

NAN reports that more than 200 widows and mothers as well as several children benefited from the gesture. (NAN)
