Benin, Dec. 3, 2019 (NAN) The Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare II, says the palace will set up a liaising team that will work with the Danish government in proffering permanent solution to irregular migration and human trafficking in the city.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the monarch disclosed this at his palace on Tuesday when he played host to the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Jesper Kamp.

The move, according to the monarch, is to facilitate a workable blueprint with foreign nations to reduce the menace and other social crimes associated with human trafficking.

The Oba noted that social welfare intervention and job opportunities by foreign nations would serve as huge panacea for the scourge of irregular migration in the country.

The monarch solicited for the assistance of foreign governments and international organisations in stamping out the menace.

Speaking, Kamp said that the efforts of the monarch in curbing human trafficking had been globally recognised as a tangible symbol of distinction.

He explained that the Danish government had concluded arrangement to partner with the palace and government agencies in various ways that would reduce the menace to the bearest minimum.

The ambassador described Oba Ewuare as champion in the global fight against human trafficking. (NAN)
