Ilorin, April 10, 2017 (NAN) Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin on Monday defeated their feeder team 3-0 to book a place in the final match of the state’s Football Association (FA) Cup competition.
Segun Alebiosu scored a brace to emphasise the Harmony Boys’ superiority against their feeder team in the semi-final match played at the Kwara State Stadium Complex in Ilorin.
Olamide Mudashiru had missed a penalty kick in the 20th minute for the Kwara United feeder team to reduce the confidence they started the game with.
Thereafter, Sunday Odudu found an unmarked Alebiosu in the feeder team’s penalty box and he wasted no time in putting the Harmony Boys ahead in the 45th minute.
Kwara United’s Charles Chinedu was sent off in the 52nd minute after a rash challenge on a Kwara United feeder team midfielder.
But this seemed not to have deterred the senior side, as the two players combined again in the 60th minute to put their opponents under pressure.
Odudu fired a shot from the far right which hit the crossbar, and Alebiosu headed home the rebound to double their lead.
Dada Bitrus put the match beyond the Kwara United feeder team when he unleashed a powerful shot from outside the goal area to make it 3-0 in the 78th minute.
Kwara United had defeated Musty FC 2-0 in the quarter finals to book a place in the semi-finals.(NAN)
