Kyari: Ogun APC, NANS mourn

Abeokuta, April 18, 2020 (NAN) The Ogun Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep sadness over the demise of Alhaji Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Publicity Secretary of the Caretaker Committee of APC in Ogun, Tunde Oladunjoye, conveyed the party’s condolence message in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Saturday.
The party described Kyari’s death as ” a painful loss to the nation, especially during this time of the coronavirus pandemic for which Mr President is marshalling all hands and resources to curb.”
“With the death of the Borno-born lawyer, banker and astute administrator, President Buhari has, indeed, lost a true friend, confidant and a loyalist to the core who gave his very best and dutifully served the nation till death.
“On behalf of the leaders and entire members of our party in Ogun, we sympathise with our party leader, President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Our condolence goes not only to the members of the Federal Executive Council, but also to the family left behind by the deceased.
“We faithfully pray that Almighty God will grant him Aljanah Fridaus and grant the family, friends, and associates the fortitude to bear the loss,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has described Kyari’s death as a great loss to the entire country.
The National Public Relations Officer of the students body, Azeez Adeyemi, in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Saturday said the association received the news of Kyari’s death with shock.
He called on all Nigerians to join hands with government at all levels to fight the COVID-19, saying that ‘the virus has no respect for anyone’.
Adeyemi also condoled with the Kyari family and the Nigerian government, praying Allah to forgive the deceased his sins. (NAN)
